La Raza Justice Movement Condemns Arizona’s SB1070 Which Will Be Signed Into Law Today Supports Future Boycott

Description: LRJM contacts friends and allies in Arizona to offer support.

La Raza Justice Movement (LRJM) condemns the actions of Arizona’s Gov. Brewer.  The governor will sign SB1070 into law today, which will legalize racial profiling.

The law will obligate law enforcement officers to ask for immigration documentation from anyone who they “reasonably suspect” of being undocumented.  The law will also criminalize the act of giving rides to undocumented people.

LRJM has been in touch with the Tuscon-based Coalition For Human Rights and with members of Phoenix-based activist groups.  A formal call for a boycott of Arizona-based business will be issued by the Coalition for Human Rights, and LRJM will endorse the call.

Hector Chavana Jr, president of La Raza Justice Movement, has blogged about the situation in Arizona at OurNewAnahuac.net
